Playground Child Hiding In Grass

Are the kids driving you crazy at this point in the summer? Are they complaining that there is nothing to do?

As summer comes to an end, kids have already enjoyed their freedom and are getting bored with nothing to do and are waiting for school to start again.

Here are a few suggestions for activities to do:

  • Find a playground near your house.

  • Locate a playground in another area of your town. Check out schools or parks.

  • Check with your local Visitors and Convention Bureau or Chamber of Commerce for ideas of things to do in your area.

  • Create a Scavenger Hunt for your town. Have the kids help you pick interesting sites. Then invite others to follow your Scavenger Hunt.

  • Give the kids chalk to draw pictures on the sidewalk or driveway.

  • Go to the local museum if you have one.

  • Find a park near your home. Pack a lunch. Take a hike.

  • Hike around a reservoir or small lake.

  • Make up a game. Then have others play it with you.

  • Blow bubbles and chase them.

  • Run through a sprinkler.

  • Fill balloons with water and have a water balloon fight.
